ERVTE   కాని పనికిమాలినవారు కొందరు “ఈ వ్యక్తి మనలను ఎలా రక్షించగలడు” అని అంటూ సౌలును చులకనగా చేసి ఆయనకు కానుకలను పట్టుకు వెళ్లటానికి నిరాకరించారు. సౌలు ఏమీ పలకలేదు. అమ్మోనీయుల రాజైన నాహాషు గాదీయులను, రూబేనీయులను క్రూరంగా బాధిస్తూండేవాడు. వారిలో ప్రతి ఒక్కడి కుడి కంటినీ రాజు తీసివేస్తూండేవాడు. వారిని ఎవరైనా రక్షించటం కూడా అతడు సహించలేదు. అమ్మోనీయుల రాజైన నాహాషు యొర్దాను నదికి కుడి వైపున ఉన్న ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ప్రతి ఒక్కరి కుడి కన్నూ తోడివేసాడు. కాని ఏడువేలమంది అమ్మో నీయుల నుండి పారిపోయి యాబేష్గిలాదుకు చేరారు.
