1. "This is what you must do to appoint Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests. Take one young bull and two male sheep that have nothing wrong with them.
|
1. And this H2088 is the thing H1697 that H834 thou shalt do H6213 unto them to hallow H6942 them , to minister unto me in the priest's office H3547 : Take H3947 one H259 young H1121 H1241 bullock H6499 , and two H8147 rams H352 without blemish H8549 ,

2. Use fine wheat flour without yeast to make bread, cakes mixed with olive oil, and wafers brushed with olive oil.
|
2. And unleavened H4682 bread H3899 , and cakes H2471 unleavened H4682 tempered H1101 with oil H8081 , and wafers H7550 unleavened H4682 anointed H4886 with oil H8081 : of wheaten H2406 flour H5560 shalt thou make H6213 them.

|
3. Put these in one basket, and bring them along with the bull and two male sheep.
|
3. And thou shalt put H5414 them into H5921 one H259 basket H5536 , and bring H7126 them in the basket H5536 , with the bullock H6499 and the two H8147 rams H352 .
|
|
4. Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the Meeting Tent and wash them with water.
|
4. And Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 thou shalt bring H7126 unto H413 the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 , and shalt wash H7364 them with water H4325 .
|
|
5. Take the clothes and dress Aaron in the inner robe and the outer robe of the holy vest. Then put on him the holy vest and the chest covering, and tie the holy vest on him with its skillfully woven belt.
|
5. And thou shalt take H3947 H853 the garments H899 , and put upon H3847 H853 Aaron H175 H853 the coat H3801 , and the robe H4598 of the ephod H646 , and the ephod H646 , and the breastplate H2833 , and gird H640 him with the curious girdle H2805 of the ephod H646 :

6. Put the turban on his head, and put the holy crown on the turban.
|
6. And thou shalt put H7760 the miter H4701 upon H5921 his head H7218 , and put H5414 H853 the holy H6944 crown H5145 upon H5921 the miter H4701 .

|
7. Take the special olive oil and pour it on his head to make him a priest.
|
7. Then shalt thou take H3947 H853 the anointing H4888 oil H8081 , and pour H3332 it upon H5921 his head H7218 , and anoint H4886 him.
|
|
8. "Then bring his sons and put the inner robes on them.
|
8. And thou shalt bring H7126 his sons H1121 , and put coats upon H3847 H3801 them.
|
|
9. Put the headbands on their heads, and tie cloth belts around their waists. Aaron and his descendants will be priests in Israel, according to a rule that will continue from now on. This is how you will appoint Aaron and his sons as priests.

9. And thou shalt gird H2296 them with girdles H73 , Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 , and put H2280 the bonnets H4021 on them : and the priest's office H3550 shall be H1961 theirs for a perpetual H5769 statute H2708 : and thou shalt consecrate H4390 H3027 Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 .

10. "Bring the bull to the front of the Meeting Tent, and Aaron and his sons must put their hands on the bull's head.
|
10. And thou shalt cause H853 a bullock H6499 to be brought H7126 before H6440 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 : and Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 shall put H5564 H853 their hands H3027 upon H5921 the head H7218 of the bullock H6499 .
|
|
11. Then kill the bull before the Lord at the entrance to the Meeting Tent.
|
11. And thou shalt kill H7819 H853 the bullock H6499 before H6440 the LORD H3068 , by the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 .
|
|
12. Use your finger to put some of the bull's blood on the corners of the altar, and then pour the blood that is left at the bottom of the altar.
|
12. And thou shalt take H3947 of the blood H4480 H1818 of the bullock H6499 , and put H5414 it upon H5921 the horns H7161 of the altar H4196 with thy finger H676 , and pour H8210 all H3605 the blood H1818 beside H413 the bottom H3247 of the altar H4196 .

|
13. Take all the fat that covers the inner organs, as well as the best part of the liver, both kidneys, and the fat around them, and burn them on the altar.
|
13. And thou shalt take H3947 H853 all H3605 the fat H2459 that covereth H3680 H853 the inwards H7130 , and the caul H3508 that is above H5921 the liver H3516 , and the two H8147 kidneys H3629 , and the fat H2459 that H834 is upon H5921 them , and burn H6999 them upon the altar H4196 .

14. Take the bull's meat, skin, and intestines, and burn them outside the camp. This is an offering to take away sin.
|
14. But the flesh H1320 of the bullock H6499 , and his skin H5785 , and his dung H6569 , shalt thou burn H8313 with fire H784 without H4480 H2351 the camp H4264 : it H1931 is a sin offering H2403 .
|
|
15. "Take one of the male sheep, and have Aaron and his sons put their hands on its head.
|
15. Thou shalt also take H3947 one H259 ram H352 ; and Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 shall put H5564 H853 their hands H3027 upon H5921 the head H7218 of the ram H352 .
|
|
16. Kill it, and take its blood and sprinkle it on all four sides of the altar.
|
16. And thou shalt slay H7819 H853 the ram H352 , and thou shalt take H3947 H853 his blood H1818 , and sprinkle H2236 it round about H5439 upon H5921 the altar H4196 .
|
|
17. Then cut it into pieces and wash its inner organs and its legs, putting them with its head and its other pieces.
|
17. And thou shalt cut H5408 the ram H352 in pieces H5409 , and wash H7364 the inwards H7130 of him , and his legs H3767 , and put H5414 them unto H5921 his pieces H5409 , and unto H5921 his head H7218 .

|
18. Burn the whole sheep on the altar; it is a burnt offering made by fire to the Lord. Its smell is pleasing to the Lord.
|
18. And thou shalt burn H6999 H853 the whole H3605 ram H352 upon the altar H4196 : it H1931 is a burnt offering H5930 unto the LORD H3068 : it is a sweet H5207 savor H7381 , an offering made by fire H801 unto the LORD H3068 .

19. "Take the other male sheep, and have Aaron and his sons put their hands on its head.
|
19. And thou shalt take H3947 H853 the other H8145 ram H352 ; and Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 shall put H5564 H853 their hands H3027 upon H5921 the head H7218 of the ram H352 .
|
|
20. Kill it and take some of its blood. Put the blood on the bottom of the right ears of Aaron and his sons and on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. Then sprinkle the rest of the blood against all four sides of the altar.
|
20. Then shalt thou kill H7819 H853 the ram H352 , and take H3947 of his blood H4480 H1818 , and put H5414 it upon H5921 the tip H8571 of the right ear H241 of Aaron H175 , and upon H5921 the tip H8571 of the right H3233 ear H241 of his sons H1121 , and upon H5921 the thumb H931 of their right H3233 hand H3027 , and upon H5921 the great toe H931 of their right H3233 foot H7272 , and sprinkle H2236 H853 the blood H1818 upon H5921 the altar H4196 round about H5439 .

21. Take some of the blood from the altar, and mix it with the special oil used in appointing priests. Sprinkle this on Aaron and his clothes and on his sons and their clothes. This will show that Aaron and his sons and their clothes are given to my service.

21. And thou shalt take H3947 of H4480 the blood H1818 that H834 is upon H5921 the altar H4196 , and of the anointing oil H4480 H8081 H4888 , and sprinkle H5137 it upon H5921 Aaron H175 , and upon H5921 his garments H899 , and upon H5921 his sons H1121 , and upon H5921 the garments H899 of his sons H1121 with H854 him : and he H1931 shall be hallowed H6942 , and his garments H899 , and his sons H1121 , and his sons H1121 ' garments H899 with H854 him.

22. "Then take the fat from the male sheep, the fat tail, and the fat that covers the inner organs. In addition, take the best part of the liver, both kidneys, and the fat around them, and the right thigh. (This is the male sheep to be used in appointing priests.)

22. Also thou shalt take H3947 of H4480 the ram H352 the fat H2459 and the rump H451 , and the fat H2459 that covereth H3680 H853 the inwards H7130 , and the caul H3508 above the liver H3516 , and the two H8147 kidneys H3629 , and the fat H2459 that H834 is upon H5921 them , and the right H3225 shoulder H7785 ; for H3588 it H1931 is a ram H352 of consecration H4394 :

23. "Then take the basket of bread that you made without yeast, which you put before the Lord. From it take a loaf of bread, a cake made with olive oil, and a wafer.
|
23. And one H259 loaf H3603 of bread H3899 , and one H259 cake H2471 of oiled H8081 bread H3899 , and one H259 wafer H7550 out of the basket H4480 H5536 of the unleavened bread H4682 that H834 is before H6440 the LORD H3068 :

24. Put all of these in the hands of Aaron and his sons, and tell them to present them as an offering to the Lord.
|
24. And thou shalt put H7760 all H3605 in H5921 the hands H3709 of Aaron H175 , and in H5921 the hands H3709 of his sons H1121 ; and shalt wave H5130 them for a wave offering H8573 before H6440 the LORD H3068 .

25. Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar with the whole burnt offering. This is an offering made by fire to the Lord; its smell is pleasing to the Lord.
|
25. And thou shalt receive H3947 them of their hands H4480 H3027 , and burn H6999 them upon the altar H4196 for H5921 a burnt offering H5930 , for a sweet H5207 savor H7381 before H6440 the LORD H3068 : it H1931 is an offering made by fire H801 unto the LORD H3068 .

26. Then take the breast of the male sheep used to appoint Aaron as priest, and present it before the Lord as an offering. This part of the animal will be your share.
|
26. And thou shalt take H3947 H853 the breast H2373 of the ram H4480 H352 of Aaron H175 's consecration H4394 , and wave H5130 it for a wave offering H8573 before H6440 the LORD H3068 : and it shall be H1961 thy part H4490 .

|
27. Set aside the breast and the thigh of the sheep that were used to appoint Aaron and his sons as priests. These parts belong to them.
|
27. And thou shalt sanctify H6942 H853 the breast H2373 of the wave offering H8573 , and the shoulder H7785 of the heave offering H8641 , which H834 is waved H5130 , and which H834 is heaved up H7311 , of the ram H4480 H352 of the consecration H4394 , even of that which H4480 H834 is for Aaron H175 , and of that which H4480 H834 is for his sons H1121 :

28. They are to be the regular share which the Israelites will always give to Aaron and his sons. It is the gift the Israelites must give to the Lord from their fellowship offerings.

28. And it shall be H1961 Aaron H175 's and his sons H1121 ' by a statute H2706 forever H5769 from H4480 H854 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 : for H3588 it H1931 is a heave offering H8641 : and it shall be H1961 a heave offering H8641 from H4480 H854 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 of the sacrifice H4480 H2077 of their peace offerings H8002 , even their heave offering H8641 unto the LORD H3068 .

29. "The holy clothes made for Aaron will belong to his descendants so that they can wear these clothes when they are appointed as priests.
|
29. And the holy H6944 garments H899 of Aaron H175 shall be H1961 his sons H1121 ' after H310 him , to be anointed H4886 therein , and to be consecrated H4390 H853 H3027 in them.
|
|
30. Aaron's son, who will become high priest after Aaron, will come to the Meeting Tent to serve in the Holy Place. He is to wear these clothes for seven days.
|
30. And that son H4480 H1121 that is priest H3548 in his stead H8478 shall put them on H3847 seven H7651 days H3117 , when H834 he cometh H935 into H413 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 to minister H8334 in the holy H6944 place .
|
|
31. "Take the male sheep used to appoint priests and boil its meat in a place that is holy.
|
31. And thou shalt take H3947 the ram H352 of the consecration H4394 , and seethe H1310 H853 his flesh H1320 in the holy H6918 place H4725 .
|
|
32. Then at the entrance of the Meeting Tent, Aaron and his sons must eat the meat of the sheep and the bread that is in the basket.
|
32. And Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 shall eat H398 H853 the flesh H1320 of the ram H352 , and the bread H3899 that H834 is in the basket H5536 , by the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 .
|
|
33. They should eat these offerings that were used to remove their sins and to make them holy when they were made priests. But no one else is to eat them, because they are holy things.
|
33. And they shall eat H398 those things wherewith H834 the atonement was made H3722 , to consecrate H4390 H853 H3027 and to sanctify H6942 them : but a stranger H2114 shall not H3808 eat H398 thereof , because H3588 they H1992 are holy H6944 .
|
|
34. If any of the meat from that sheep or any of the bread is left the next morning, it must be burned. It must not be eaten, because it is holy.
|
34. And if H518 aught of the flesh H4480 H1320 of the consecrations H4394 , or of H4480 the bread H3899 , remain H3498 unto H5704 the morning H1242 , then thou shalt burn H8313 H853 the remainder H3498 with fire H784 : it shall not H3808 be eaten H398 , because H3588 it H1931 is holy H6944 .

35. "Do all these things that I commanded you to do to Aaron and his sons, and spend seven days appointing them.
|
35. And thus H3602 shalt thou do H6213 unto Aaron H175 , and to his sons H1121 , according to all H3605 things which H834 I have commanded H6680 thee: seven H7651 days H3117 shalt thou consecrate H4390 H3027 them.

|
36. Each day you are to offer a bull to remove the sins of Aaron and his sons so they will be given for service to the Lord. Make the altar ready for service to the Lord, and pour oil on it to make it holy.
|
36. And thou shalt offer H6213 every day H3117 a bullock H6499 for a sin offering H2403 for H5921 atonement H3725 : and thou shalt cleanse H2398 H5921 the altar H4196 , when thou hast made an atonement H3722 for H5921 it , and thou shalt anoint H4886 it , to sanctify H6942 it.

37. Spend seven days making the altar ready for service to God and making it holy. Then the altar will become very holy, and anything that touches it must be holy.
|
37. Seven H7651 days H3117 thou shalt make an atonement H3722 for H5921 the altar H4196 , and sanctify H6942 it ; and it shall be H1961 an altar H4196 most holy H6944 H6944 : whatsoever H3605 toucheth H5060 the altar H4196 shall be holy H6942 .

38. "Every day from now on, offer on the altar two lambs that are one year old.
|
38. Now this H2088 is that which H834 thou shalt offer H6213 upon H5921 the altar H4196 ; two H8147 lambs H3532 of the first H1121 year H8141 day by day H3117 continually H8548 .
|
|
39. Offer one lamb in the morning and the other in the evening before dark.
|
39. H853 The one H259 lamb H3532 thou shalt offer H6213 in the morning H1242 ; and the other H8145 lamb H3532 thou shalt offer H6213 at H996 even H6153 :
|
|
40. In the morning, when you offer the first lamb, offer also two quarts of fine flour mixed with one quart of oil from pressed olives. Pour out a quart of wine as a drink offering.
|
40. And with the one H259 lamb H3532 a tenth deal H6241 of flour H5560 mingled H1101 with the fourth part H7253 of a hin H1969 of beaten H3795 oil H8081 ; and the fourth part H7243 of a hin H1969 of wine H3196 for a drink offering H5262 .
|
|
41. Offer the second lamb in the evening with the same grain offering and drink offering as you did in the morning. This is an offering made by fire to the Lord, and its smell is pleasing to him.
|
41. And the other H8145 lamb H3532 thou shalt offer H6213 at H996 even H6153 , and shalt do H6213 thereto according to the meat offering H4503 of the morning H1242 , and according to the drink offering H5262 thereof , for a sweet H5207 savor H7381 , an offering made by fire H801 unto the LORD H3068 .

42. "You must burn these things as an offering to the Lord every day, from now on, at the entrance of the Meeting Tent before the Lord. When you make the offering, I, the Lord, will meet you there and speak to you.
|
42. This shall be a continual H8548 burnt offering H5930 throughout your generations H1755 at the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 before H6440 the LORD H3068 : where H834 H8033 I will meet H3259 you , to speak H1696 there H8033 unto H413 thee.

|
43. I will meet with the people of Israel there, and that place will be holy because of my glory.
|
43. And there H8033 I will meet H3259 with the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and the tabernacle shall be sanctified H6942 by my glory H3519 .
|
|
44. "So I will make the Meeting Tent and the altar holy; I will also make Aaron and his sons holy so they may serve me as priests.
|
44. And I will sanctify H6942 H853 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 , and the altar H4196 : I will sanctify H6942 also both Aaron H175 and his sons H1121 , to minister to me in the priest's office H3547 .
|
|
45. I will live with the people of Israel and be their God.
|
45. And I will dwell H7931 among H8432 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and will be H1961 their God H430 .
|
|
46. And they will know that I am the Lord their God who led them out of Egypt so that I could live with them. I am the Lord their God.
|
46. And they shall know H3045 that H3588 I H589 am the LORD H3068 their God H430 , that H834 brought them forth H3318 H853 out of the land H4480 H776 of Egypt H4714 , that I may dwell H7931 among H8432 them: I H589 am the LORD H3068 their God H430 .
